Description
On April 20, 1868, the marriage of Ruggles to Annie E. Wilson was announced in the Daily Examiner (San Francisco, CA). The source of the life dates for David W. Ruggles (1813-1904) is the death notice in the San Francisco Examiner, 1904-03-22, p. 6. The David W. Ruggles who owned the store in this photograph is not the same person as the New York abolitionist. That David Ruggles died in 1849.
