Addison B. Day, chairman of the Community Chest Campaign, stands and pointd to a sign that reads, "Over the top," referring to the success of the campaign. Reported in "CHEST FUND OVER TOP IN FIVE CITIES: Results Elsewhere Add Enthusiasm for Local Campaign of Relief," Los Angeles Times, 11 Oct. 1931: A5 and in "CHEST REPORTS DUE TODAY: Team Leaders Near Half-way Goal, With More Employee Groups 'Over Top'," Los Angeles Times, 14 Nov 1932: A1. Day was also the president of Los Angeles Gas and Electric.
