Description
Ruby Marie Offutt Wheeler, a daughter of Georgia Offutt, was a Los Angeles school teacher for 14 years. She appears as a student at the University of California in Los Angeles in the 1920 yearbook. A June 24, 1932 letter written to her by W. E. B. Du Bois, inviting her to provide her photograph for the "Education Number" of The Crisis Magazine, lists her address as the "University of Southern California."
