Roy Ottoway Wilkins was a prominent activist in the Civil Rights Movement from the 1930s to the 1970s. As a member of the NAACP he contributed to the successful outcomes of Brown v. Board of Education, the Civil Rights Act of 1964, and the Voting Rights Act of 1965. John Royce "Johnny" Mathis is a singer of popular music with several gold and platinum albums.
