David Bennett Hundley, fought in the Spanish American War as a member of the ninth carvery unit. His was one of many who were nicknamed, “Buffalo Soldiers," as were members of the 10th Cavalry Regiment of the United States Army, formed on September 21, 1866, at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.
