Description
Evidence used during the bribery trial of former district attorney Asa Keyes. Six checks signed by Louis Berman dated in June and August of 1928. Four of the checks are made out to B. [Ben] Getzoff. A tailor shop employee testified that he saw Ben Getzoff give cash to Asa Keyes. Former district attorney Asa Keyes, was convicted of accepting a bribe from the Julian Petroleum Corporation in 1929.
