Description
Thomas Lee Griffith was the pastor of the Second Baptist Church from 1921 to 1940. When Griffith led the campaign to build a larger church (Griffith Ave. and 24th St.), he hired African-American architect Paul R. Williams and black-owned construction businesses. The new building opened in 1925.
