The sculpture measures 56 x 48 x 56 cm. (22 x 18.9 x 22 in.) Beulah Ecton Woodard was an African-American sculptor and painter in California who specialized in African subjects. The first African American artist to show her work at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, she founded the Los Angeles Negro Art Association (1937). "Two billion - Creation," with a baby and an obscured head and hand, carved in orange wood.
