Description
Part of the "Taua noa" campaign. Poster depicts a drawing of a couple in traditional attire kneeling and facing each other, holding hands. In the space between their torsos, there is an object that looks like an eye, or possibly a condom, radiating beams of light or energy toward the couple. A black and white border depicts two repeating drawings of Tiki couples. In one, the Tiki couple stands arm in arm; in the other, the couple faces each other, and the male Tiki wears a condom. Poster suggests that couples that respect each other will practice safe sex, and that the Tikis play a protective role by promoting condom use. Poster held by Louise M. Darling Biomedical Library. History & Special Collections, Collection no. 306, item FP001.
