Description
Part of the public AIDS campaign in Germany: Gib AIDS keine Chance [Don't give AIDS a chance]. This "Steck" cartoon depicts two naked men with their arms around each other, seated on a hilltop, smiling. Snow is falling around them. However, they are sitting under the "protection" of a condom, which is keeping them safe from the snowfall, and safe from the darkness, as light is eminating down from the condom above them. Since the snowflakes are suggestive of sperm, the two men can be thought of as being kept safe from the transmission of AIDS through the use of a condom. Poster held by Louise M. Darling Biomedical Library. History & Special Collections, Collection no. 306, item GW135.
