Description
A group of men, women, and children stand, sit, or kneel in a darkened church. Two factions of the Angelus Temple defected from Aimee McPherson's Angelus Temple in 1925. These groups were located in Burbank and in Santa Ana. Their respective dissent was reported on in "Leave Mother Church: Burbank Congregation Severs Ties with Angelus Temple," Los Angeles Times, 19 Oct. 1925: 10 and "Prayer Downs Church Parley: Four Square Love Feast Proves Unfruitful, Discussion of Lawsuit is Hindered by Praise, Santa Ana Dissenters Give Version of Trouble," Los Angeles Times, 4 Sep. 1925: 12.
