Description
Lillian Copeland was an American athlete who excelled in weight throwing. She has been called "the most successful female discus thrower in U.S. history," and held multiple titles in shot put and javelin throwing as well. In the 1928 Olympics she won the silver medal for the discus throw and in 1932 she won the gold medal in this event.
