Description
VANISHING BREED--The number of service stations is declining in California and the rest of the U.S. as oil companies cut back their marketing efforts. A former Texaco station, at left, in Pacoima is now a revival church. A Chevron station in the same neighborhood is currently boarded up, awaiting an unknown future.
