THE NEW AND THE OLD--The San Diego Freeway route is seen in this panoramic view north as it crosses the Santa Monica Mountains, roughly parallel to Sepulveda Blvd., being relocated westward. New Sepulveda will follow a line beginning at earth-mover, left foreground, through water tank midway up hill to connect with Sepulveda tunnel to left of hill, top left. Freeway will come in from the right.
