Description
OLD MEETS NEW--Horse and rider confront space shuttle orbiter in Antelope Valley today as craft was towed 36 miles across desert from Rockwell International facility in Palmdale to a dry lake test facility for a year of flight trials. Townspeople lined the route for a glimpse of the 110-ton spacecraft, which was mounted on a 90-wheel transporter and accompanied by a 20-vehicle convoy.
