The 4.6 mile section was between Vermont Ave. and La Cienega Blvd.
MAKING IT OFFICIAL-Gov. Brown snips ribbon formally dedicating a new 4.6 mile section of the Santa Monica Freeway. Robert E. McClure, at left, to whom the freeway is dedicated, watches proceedings along with the other public officials, civic leaders and swim suit-clad girls representing the International Auto Show.
