Description
ANSWER: It probably wasn't fair to show such a small portion of the place, but this is the Children's Home Society of California, a licensed adoption agency at 3100 W Adams Blvd. But, the portion that was pictured should have been readily recognized because it faces the busy intersection of W Adams Blvd. and Arlington Ave.
CHS was founded in the 1890s by Dr. and Mrs. J. R. Townsend to assist homeless and abandoned children.
KNOW YOUR CITY, NO. 138 -- These stately columns comprise a corner of a former residence that now is headquarters for a Community Chest agency. You can't see it, but there's a building in back where babies come and go. See Page 29, Part 1.
