Description
ANSWER: The monument was erected in memoriam "to the fighting men of the Fire Department, city of Los Angeles, who met violent death while in performance of their duties." It stands in the little park on the south side of the City Hall, near the intersection of 1st and Spring Sts., and was dedicated Oct. 14, 1944. KNOW YOUR CITY, NO.197 -- Of course, you will recognize this as a memorial. But, what and where is it? Hint: Although the trees obscure any definite clues, it is in a very prominent spot of the city. If you can't guess, take a peek at Page 28, Part ll.
