BOUND FOR DEEP-SEA DISPOSAL-Some of 31/2 tons of illegal weapons confiscated by Los Angeles Police Department in past year are lowered into a boat Friday prior to dumping at sea. Deckhand John [illegible] and police property clerk William Sanders, right, guide load aboard, while officer Gene Finch, left, checks boxes of illegal pistols. Disposal is annual occurrence done in compliance with state law.
