Description
PATTY MAKERS-Some restaurant chains are using automated equipment at central commissaries to process food items. At Bob's Big Boy plant in Glendale, four hamburger machines turn out more than 500,000 patties per week for delivery to 21 company restaurants in L.A. County. Each machine can make 3,600 per hour. Counting more than 500 franchised units, annual Big Boy volume is $225 million.
