Description
A MARATHON OF A DAY Sunday's Los Angeles Marathon drew a field of more than 11,000 competitors, including those in the wheelchair division . The start on Figueroa Boulevard appeared to ba scene of mass confusion with three runners breaking across the starting line while other entrants were waving to friends or checking their watches. After more than two hours of running through the city's streets, the winners turned out to be Ric Sayre and Nancy Ditz . Sayre finished in 2:12.59, while Ditz was timed in 2:36.27
