Description: Line of defense--Scenes from the battle against a brush fire in Angeles National Forest that had blackened about 3,900 acres by late Tuesday. Barring freak winds, firefighters expected to contain the blaze by late today. The roadless wilderness in the San Gabriel Mountains necessitated a largely airborne effort.
