THE OLD TELEPHONE IN A SHOE TRICK--Jess Unruh, campaigning in Huntington Beach, kids communications adviser Bob Cheny, left, by taking off a shoe and pretending to talk into it. On Unruh's last birthday, Cheny gave him a shoe with a working phone in it.
