Description
Date on back of poster, 2006, reflects when the vendor received the copy later acquired by the UCLA Library. Translated additional poster text: Health, everyone's right! Meteor is a tool for fostering humane values, aimed at children 10 to 12 years old. By hearing stories from children their age, students become aware of other realities and other ways of life. Meteor consists of a film, a booklet, and teaching manual. Poster depicts the face of a girl, Valery, in one large square panel bordered on its left edge by three smaller square panels showing Valery in different scenes: the top panel shows her with classmates; the middle one shows her holding a flip board presentation on AIDS and STD's; and the bottom one shows her being embraced by a younger girl. A fourth circular panel in the upper right corner of the main panel shows an urban landscape, most likely Valery's hometown. The poster serves as an advertisement for Meteor, an educational kit that teaches children about other children affected by AIDS. Poster held by Louise M. Darling Biomedical Library.
