Additional poster text: Mayval présente Les aventures de Maimouna Date on back of poster, 2005, reflects when the vendor received the copy later acquired by the UCLA Library. Poster held by Louise M. Darling Biomedical Library. History & Special Collections, Collection no. 306, item FR128. Poster depicts Maïmouna and other characters, mostly young women, from "Les aventures to Maïmouna," a comic book intended to encourage women to use the female condom for the prevention of risks associated with sexual activity. In the poster background are scenes from the comic book. A city skyline at the base of the poster, as well as the several languages that the women are represented as speaking, suggests a cosmopolitan setting.
