Description
Text on right-hand side of poster: AIDES 0404-- Maquette: S. Blot -- Illustration: PIEM extraite de "Petits enfants, Grands parents", edité par le Cherche midi.
Date on back of poster, 2005, reflects when the vendor received the copy later acquired by the UCLA Library.
Poster consists of a drawing of an older man, wearing glasses, seated on a park bench with his arm around a child; the older man is pointing at the sky in which scattered stars and stars formed in the shapes of two hearts are present. Both the older man and the child are smiling and looking at the hearts in the sky.
Poster held by Louise M. Darling Biomedical Library. History & Special Collections, Collection no. 306, item FR134.
Possibly part of a 2003-2004? campaign to encourage bequests and gifts to the Aides organization.
Translation of additional poster text: To give to charity is to give hope to people we will never know. As an "Association Reconnue d'Utilité Publique", AIDES may receive donations and bequests exempt from inheritance taxes. The entirety of bequests can therefore be devoted to the fight against AIDS.
