Description
The plane crashed in the Santa Susana mountains, near Chatsworth and Simi Valley.
CLOSE-UP – Wreckage of Standard Airlines C-46 lies on side of steep canyon in Santa Susana Mountains, surrounded by dead and injured, as rescue work begins. Picture shows how whole section of passenger cabin was sheared away, hurling burned and mangled bodies among boulders 30 yards away. Another plane reported tragedy.
