Description
All information concerning the content and description of the image was provided by Walter Gordon. Ivie Anderson is singing in the center of the room. Seated just to the right of Anderson is Ralph J. Bunche. Next to Mr. Bunche in the doorway is Bea DeVaughn, hostess of the party. The man to the right of Bea DeVaughn is Dr. Andrew Thomas King, a chiropractor. Next to him is Walter L. Gordon, Jr. Seated to the left of Ivie Anderson is Mrs. Taylor, of Pasadena (first name unknown). The occasion was a visit by Bunche to his hometown of Los Angeles, soon after he negotiated the 1949 Armistice Agreement. Andrew Thomas King (known as A. T. King) was identified as the chiropractor Dr. Thomas King by Walter Gordon, Jr.
