Description
Access to this collection is generously supported by Arcadia funds. Upper photo: View of Castle Rock from the west. The large conical rock is at left, jutting out from a low sloping hillside. There is a sandy beach at the base of the rock at center, and the beach is covered with smaller rocks in front of Castle Rock. There is an especially big rock in the foreground at right. There are hills visible in the background at left, and the calm water of the ocean is visible at right. Castle rock was leveled in the mid 1950's and is now paved over. Middle and lower photos: views towards the Pacific Coast Highway, beach and palisades cliffs in Santa Monica.
