Description
Access to this collection is generously supported by Arcadia funds. Image is reversed. View towards a hydraulic mining operation in an open pit in a mountainous area with pine trees visible up on the ridge on the right. This is probably a gold mine. In the huge pit below is a raised pipeline with a jet of water streaming out the end towards the cliff face, and two long wooden sluice boxes for removing gold. The ground is littered with rocks and wood debris.
