The Castillo del Mar once belonged to director Roland West and his actress wife Jewel Carmen. In the distance above the coast is the Villa Leon (17948 Porto Marina Way). A footbridge crosses over the Pacific Coast Highway and Castle Rock is visible beyond, in the middle distance.
