Description
Access to this collection is generously supported by Arcadia funds. The Giardini Botanici Hanbury (also known as La Mortola, or Hanbury Botanical Garden, or Villa Hanbury), on the cape of Mortola, are major botanical gardens operated by the University of Genoa. The gardens were founded by Sir Thomas Hanbury, a British entrepreneur, after he had made his fortune in China. View from above of a circular fountain in La Mortola botanical garden. The fountain is surrounded by a low balustrade. In the middle is a statue on top of a plinth. There are two larger plinths outside the fountain and a bench adorned with angel statues. Tall, gnarly trees surround the area. Text from nitrate negative sleeve: La Mortola 1929
