Access to this collection is generously supported by Arcadia funds. The Giardini Botanici Hanbury (also known as La Mortola, or Hanbury Botanical Garden, or Villa Hanbury), on the cape of Mortola, are major botanical gardens operated by the University of Genoa. The gardens were founded by Sir Thomas Hanbury, a British entrepreneur, after he had made his fortune in China. Two pictures of a walkway enclosed by a pergola build from rustic tree branches in La Mortola botanical garden. A fruit-bearing plant is growing on the pergola and small flowering plants grow on the sides of the walkway.
