A statue in the pool at the bottom of the stairs features several women in robes perched on a rock. Trees and small plinths line the sides of the staircase. This is the view up from the main palace building. The palace was once the summer residence of the Kings of Spain, now it is open to the public. The palace is located in the small town of San Ildefonso, which is in the hills near Segovia, north of Madrid. Text from nitrate negative sleeve: La Granja - Spain. Near Segovia 1929
