Access to this collection is generously supported by Arcadia funds. View over a field of the fortified French town of Carcassonne in the distance. The town was officially founded in the fifth century but the settlement was fortified by the Romans even earlier. Structures include fifty-three towers and a double ring of ramparts around the outskirts of the town. Text from nitrate negative sleeve: Carcasonne 1929
