Access to this collection is generously supported by Arcadia funds. A cactus garden is documented in Westlake Park (now MacArthur Park) in photographs from the early 1900's. Specimen photograph. Guzmania lingulata, Scarlet Star, is a flowering plant in the bromeliad family. The flower is star-shaped and an orange/red color.NOTE: plant *may* be misidentified, it doesn't resemble researched pictures of the species.
