This is a sample print, colored by Bartlett to instruct the colorist. Robert College is a school located on a sixty-five acre wooded campus on the European side of Istanbul between the two bridges on the Bosphorus. It was founded in 1863 by Americans, Christopher Rhinelander Robert and Cyrus Hamlin. In 1972 the higher education division was transferred to the Turkish government and has continued as Boğaziçi University, Turkey's leading public university.
