Description
"Song of the Nile" float with two sphinx statuettes before lounging, costumed participants. One character fans the others with peacock feathers. The float is covered with leafy foliage, and a vase and other decorative elements are visible. The float was entered by the Pasadena Theatres, Inc. Text from nitrate negative sleeve: Pasadena Rose Tourney, year 1927; 2081 2082, 2083, 2084, 2085, 2086, 2087, 2088, 2089, 2090, 2091, 2092 Access to this collection is generously supported by Arcadia funds. 1927 was the first year the the Tournament of Roses Parade had a theme, "Songs in Flowers," with each float typifying a song
