Description
Olive Young was an actress who was a major star at the Great Wall studio in Shanghai from 1926 to 1929. Born Olive Young in St. Joseph, Missouri, she first visited China at the age of 16, when her parents sent her to Hong Kong to complete her education. Two years later she began her acting career in Shanghai. After 1929, she returned to the United States and had a brief acting career in Hollywood.

Rosemary Chew and Olive Young standing hand in hand in front of the former Elk's Lodge No. 99 building (607 Park View Street) with arched windows, two angel statues and frieze near roof. The building is an outstanding example of Gothic Revival architecture style (Neo-Gothic), and was designed by Claud Beelman.
