El Rey de la Vaqueros, Aug 1927 Eugene R. Plummer and his family once owned sections of Los Angeles including the Hancock Park area, mid-Wilshire, Hollywood Hills, and West Hollywood. The site of his home was purchased by the County of Los Angeles in 1937 and is known as Plummer Park, West Hollywood. Text reads in part: 1338 West Fifth Street, Los Angeles, 12 May 1928. Dear Mr. Bartlett, I think I have finally landed that Plummer Park story---and with the Times Magazine, after all! I took it to Mr. Criswell yesterday ... very favorably disposed toward it ... he did not like the pictures for reproduction ... make a sharper print of the one showing the windmill ... lighter print of Mr. Plummer on horseback ... Sincerely yours, Neeta Marquis Access to this collection is generously supported by Arcadia funds.
