Text reads in part: IMPORTANT - FOR FRONT PAGE STORY WITH PICTURE 6/26/36 From Adelbert Bartlett. Dear Mr. Warren: ... Capt. Eugene R. Plummer, whose family at one time owned a total of 4444.44 acres comprising the famous Rancho La Brea, upon which most of Hollywood now stands, would be glad to receive from our Pioneer Days Committee a written invitation ... He has lived for 66 years on a piece of land which really is the last of the old Rancho La Brea to remain in his possession ... El Rey de la Vaqueros, Aug 1927 Eugene R. Plummer and his family once owned sections of Los Angeles including the Hancock Park area, mid-Wilshire, Hollywood Hills, and West Hollywood. The site of his home was purchased by the County of Los Angeles in 1937 and is known as Plummer Park, West Hollywood. Access to this collection is generously supported by Arcadia funds.
