Text reads in part: Actual photograph, said to be the first released in this country, showing the Turkish court trial at Brousa, Turkey, April 25, 1928, before Judge Ahmed Nizameddin, when the Misses Lucille Day of Pacific Palisades, Cal., Edith Sanderson, Berkeley, Cal., and Jennie Jilson, American girl missionary workers, each were sentenced to serve 3 days in jail and to pay a fine of $13 for alleged teaching of Christianity, contrary to present Turkish religious laws. Left to right, the missionaries are, Miss Day (wearing glasses), Miss Sanderson and Miss Jilson (writing). ... Sentence was passed at Constantinople, Sept. 26, 1928 ... Miss Day is now in Salonica, Greece, teaching at the American school. The Miss Sanderson and Jilson are in Italy and plan to return to the States.
