Hollywood Blvd looking east at corner of Wilcox avenue with Xmas decorations in place. Year 1931 Text reads in part: Gilbert H. Beesemyer, Head of Loan Company and Hollywood Bank, Tells of Defalcations. An amazing confession of defalcations amounting to approximately $8,000,000 in funds of the Guaranty Building and Loan Association was made late last night by Gilbert H. Beesemyer, secretary-manager of the association ... He was taken to the County Jail early this morning. The story of the misappropriation of funds of the association, of which the Bank of Hollywood is an allied institution, came with dramatic suddenness ...
