DATE PALM HAREM. Indio, Calif., oasis of date palms, showing at right male trees alongside rows of female, bearing, trees. On the female trees are great bunches of ripe dates which are gathered and tended from platforms like one in second view enclosed. It is 16 ft. up to the fruit. Some of these grees [sic] bear 250 lbs. of dates. Oct. is ripening season. DEGLET NOOR variety. Few us[e?] about 10.
