Date from billboards at lower left: 1928, start it with General Gasoline; and Marx [Br]others, Musical Comedy Cocoanut [on stage in Los Angeles April 1928] 3-story building with pillared porch with Elks emblem, balconies, and flagpole, with utility pole on sidewalk in front and billboards at lower left This building was at 1811 Ocean Avenue, Santa Monica. The property was acquired in 1911 and construction was started in 1912. It was still the Elks Lodge in 1926 when construction was started on a new building at Main Street and Pier Avenue.
