Text from negative sleeve: Black dress. 11183. [Printed on sleeve:] Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios Adrian (Adolph Greenberg), an American costume designer during the 1930s and 1940s, designed costumes for over 250 films. In the 1940's he became a fashion designer as well. Three of the 7 garments represented in the February 5, 1929 photo session are documented as being by Adrian; the remaining 4 appear to be Adrian designs as well. Peggy Hamilton modeling a short dark dress with a train. The back and front of the bodice have triangular pieces of sheer net fabric embellished with metallic embroidery. Printed on edge of negative: FEB 5 29. PUB. 528. BULL.
