Description
Access to this collection is generously supported by Arcadia funds. A different photograph of Peggy Hamilton wearing this gown appears in her Los Angeles Times feature "Fashions," January 2, 1927, pg. I3. The photograph credit for this "Fashions" page is Witzel Photos. Peggy Hamilton modeling a form-fitting velvet hostess gown with pendant sleeves in a sheer floral design fabric, a deep v-neckline with a lace inset and a high ostrich feather collar. The gown was designed by Kathleen Kay, of Fox Studios for Virginia Valli in "Stage Madness." Albert Witzel was a society photographer in Los Angeles and Hollywood in the nineteen teens and twenties. He specialized in portraits of theatrical performers and, later, film stars.
