The theme of the 1930 forty-first annual Rose Parade was "Festival Days in Flowers"
"Singing Jimmie Smith" float portraying a floral home with Jimmie Smith seated as a radio broadcaster beneath a pergola with float riders Jeanne Zachau, Bobbie Kimnle, Dorothy Collisson, Lois Stolzenburg, Doris Purcell and Marguerite V. Essen. The float was entered by the city of Tujunga and is shown next to the Pasadena Memorial Flagpole (Goodhue Flagpole) in its original location in the middle of the intersection of Orange Grove and Colorado Boulevard.
