The theme of the 1930 forty-first annual Rose Parade was "Festival Days in Flowers" The "May Day" float features 2 groups of large floral butterflies projecting from 2 arms out in front of the float, with a maypole group in the center (with Muriel cannon, Doris Hall, Eleanor Flech, Marie E. Cates, Rosalie Meub, Francis Chapman, Dorothy Justice and Eleanor Bothell) and the Queen of the May (Lydette Everard) enthroned beneath an arbor at the back. The float was entered by the Huntington Hotel and is seen at the intersection of Colorado Boulevard and Orange Grove Blvd. Text from negative sleeve: Tournament of Roses, 1930. nitrates.
