A photograph similar to this one appears with the article, "THOMSON ON CHARITY JOB: Appointment by Supervisors Jensen's Post Filled by Man First on County Civil Service List Extensive Shifts Must Wait Efficiency Bureau Survey, New Chief Declares," Los Angeles Times, 28 Aug. 1934: A2 Rex Thomson sits behind his desk and poses for the camera. He wears a dark suit with a striped tie and gazes off to the right. Paperwork sits on the desk that stretches in front of him. Mr. Thompson appears to be caught signing a document. Behind him, an office wall stands at left and drapes cover a window at right. This negative appears to have been scanned from the wrong side. A very similar photograph of Rex Thomson at his desk appears with the caption, "New County Charities Chief Rex Thomson, appointee to the head of the charities department, at work in his office with his secretary, Ardell Ziemke," Los Angeles Times, 28 Aug. 1934: A2 Text from negative sleeve: THOMSON, REX CO.
